Manic Monday - Carol

Some of my favorite memories of celebrating Christmas is caroling.
We dressed warmly and wandered about the neighborhood singing carols.
We were always very well received and being able to bring some
cheer to neighbors is always a gift!

One of my favorite Christmas carols is "Silent Night," which has the
ability to make me cry. This beautiful carol was originally played by a guitar because the organ was broken.

Silent Night has so many stories and languages associated with it. Thanks for the memory.

What a wonderful thing to do Gracie. I haven't seen any carolers for a long, long time. It's a shame too. Silent Night is indeed an excellent choice. Have a great day my friend. :)

Hi Gracie. Silent Night is a beautiful and well-loved Christmas song. I also have fond memories of caroling in our neighborhood when I was young.

I appreciate your visit. Thanks for your comment about my son's school performance. Thanks for sharing about your mom and dad. I'm sure you have many fond memories of your parents helping you out in school projects and performances.

Silent Night is one of my many favorites.... I remember going out caroling many years ago and I feel that we have lost something very dear ........ Neighbors do not even know neighbors... it is such a shame......

At the mall over the weekend there was a group of singers in Dickensian costume performing holiday songs. It was nice.

If you ever get to Michigan, you must go to Bronner's in Frankenmuth.
Frankenmuth is a cool little Bavarian village, and Bronner's is the world's largest year-round Christmas store. But that's beside the point... the point is: they have a Silent Night Chapel separate from the store, on the grounds, that tells the history of the carol Silent Night. It's like a mini museum just for Silent Night!

Silent night is my favourite too and it's nice to listen to it in all languages. I was quite surprised to see your MM already, I will publish mine tomorrow before I leave for Amsterdam where we celebrate Christmas with our son.

Gracie Fans:

Gracie's computer bit the big one this holiday season. Once she's back online, she'll be up & blogging again.
Til then, she wishes everyone a very Happy Holiday Season!

I hope you had a very, Merry Christmas, Gracie. I sang my solo at church on Christmas Eve (twice!) without mishap. I consider that a major accomplishment; I've been known to lose my place in the music. *hanging head sheepishly*

Just checking to see if you had your computer back up and running. Miss you Gracie. :)
