Manic Monday - Play

Photo from "anniehon's photostream" on flickr

I started piano lessons at 14 and fell in love. But it was unrequited love...
Everything I've ever done has been "okay." It's the old "Jack of all
trades and master of none" syndrome. I only did one performance in High
School and froze onstage. It was pure agony, especially when you're 16!
Although I've never been afraid of public speaking or singing, the piano
was my undoing! I only played for my own "enjoyment" after that for fear of
further humiliation. When we moved, my stepdaughter bought my
piano and there are times I'd love to bang out my frustrations on those
black and white ivories!

Please visit Manic Monday and say hello to our host, Mo!

The piano is my favorite instrument. Even if you never took the skill on stage, you did have the joy of learning a wonderful skill.

I have a similar history as you do Grace. I was never happier when my nephew who majored in Music in school wanted my piano and I gave it to him willingly! :D

Not participating, but wanted to comment. I too love the piano, but never was very good. Have a great day sweetie. Big hug. :)

I would love to have been able to take piano lessons when I was younger but I guess it would have helped if we'd had a piano! Of course, being in a military family, we weren't about to haul around a piano all over the country!

Only thing I can play is the radio or CD player but thankfully Amanda is much more talented than I!

Good Morning!! So nice to stop by your blog again. i see that you are gone for a bit but just thought i would stop by and say hi.
I always wanted to be able to play the piano and did take a few adult lessons back in the 70's. But just never did do it right. Great thing when you can play!! have a great leave of absence. Sandy
