Thursday Thirteen - Random Stuff

RANDOM STUFF

1. Today, our high was expected to be 46. We have socked-in,
Tule (toolie) fog which makes for very dangerous driving conditions!

2. Callie Ann got a new puppy and that makes me happy!

3. Considering we've become statistics of the unemployed, we're
doing okay, thus far!

4. Our kids had a surprise 30th wedding anniversary party at
my daughter's house.

5. My granddaughter got married the day after Thanksgiving.
I'm sorry we couldn't be there but the photos are terrific.

6. My jeans from last year still fit. Hallelujah... I feel like I've
gained a ton.

7. I have become so stinkin' serious, I'm trying to keep looking up.

8. When I feel blue I check out Sandee's blog. She's always got
something funny over at Comedy Plus, and she's a friend.

9. I'm watching CSI:NY. It's my favorite of the trilogy.

10. I'm so glad to see the gas prices dropping. We actually saw gas
under $1.60! Whodathunkit...

11. I fixed the best meatloaf last night! Wish you could've all had
a taste... (and don't go gagging at the thought of meatloaf. I serve
mine with brown gravy and mashed white things.)

12. I read four books last month. Right now, I'm reading Stephen
King's "Duma Key." So far, it's really a great story...

13. Hubman signed up for Unemployment Insurance and Social Security.
Maybe he'll just be able to retire....I love him being home!!!

And now, an appropriate joke from Reader's Digest (since I've
created a resume for hubman!)

"My friend had been pounding the pavement
in search of a job with no luck. Frustrated, she asked her dad to
look at her resume. He didn't get much further than the first line
of her cover letter before spotting the problem
"Is it too generic?" she asked.
"I doubt it," said her father.
"Especially since it's addressed 'Dear Sir or Madman.'"

Dear Sir or Madman -

My former employer at the book store would have gotten a good laugh at that line and would have probably granted an interview. lol

They don't make'em like Bob anymore.

Empathizing with your hubby's unemployment, mine is getting ready to go back to school to overcome that status.

Love the RD funny! I once received an employment application from a girl who noted that she was "electric" to dust! I'm sure you aren't "shocked" to know we didn't hire her.

I read "Duma Key" not too long ago and really liked it once I got into it. It was the first Stephen King that I had read in a long time.

I love meatloaf! Next time you're going to make it let me know and I'll be right over for dinner!

Thanks for the mention honey. I love you to pieces too.

I can't get in my jeans from last year. I've gained one size this past year. I don't like it either. I'm working on it though.

Big hug honey. I've just been so busy that I haven't been visiting like I should. :)
