These are photos of my trip a few years ago to my cousin's home in Angelus Oaks, close to Big Bear Lake.  She dearly loves her home, her critters, and her friends - fellow mountain dwellers.   Last week she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and today she had a mastectomy at 1:00 and was home in the early evening.  I still can't believe how quickly you're kicked out the door after major surgery...

I didn't go to be with her, although she would have been the first to show up on my doorstep, if I needed her.  She does, but I cannot forgive myself for not being the first one she saw when she came out of the anesthetic.  I should have been there to take her home, make her comfortable, and see to her needs. She knows why I didn't come and forgives me for my shortcomings and failings.  I don't know if I can.

I am sure there was a good reason. A pink ribbon is there for your sister.

They sent her home the same day? Are you kidding?

Do forgive yourself. Living so far from my sisters there have been many things I have had to miss, so I understand., as it sounds like your cousin does.

I will pray for her healing and recovery.

Big hugs :]

Don't be so rough on yourself, Gracie; if your cousin has forgiven you then you should forgive yourself also.

Sending her best thoughts, wishes, and prayers for a speedy recovery and a cure.

Sending you a big hug!

You can't change anything now Gracie so don't beat yourself up. Just saying.

I'll keep your cousin in my thoughts and prayers. You too. Big hug. :)

I have not had any bad effects or pain! Just hoping I won't have to have Chemo...will find out next week. Gracie, my Cousin, My Soul Mate ~ I love you more than you could ever know and as much as I wish you could be with me physically, you are here with me in my heart always. Thanks to your wonderful friends for your support as well as mine. You are truly a blessing!
