A Cool Feast for the Eyes...

Painting by Steve Barton

So there's no Friday Feast today...I'm ad libbing with photos of things that make me feel cool.
I am as much at home in the water as I am on land - it may be because I look like a manatee, not sure. But I love floating and swimming in the cool water. That first, breath-taking dive - you know the one I mean - and then after that your body, feeling exhilarated, forgets how beastly hot it was just moments before!
I saw it with my own eyes - the thermometer outside my kitchen window registered 112°.
Just seeing that somehow makes you even hotter than you were five seconds prior! It's a psychological attack as well as a physical one. I'm trying very hard not to whine because there are folks in Las Vegas who are suffering at 116°, so you know it's gotta be at least 120 out in the boonies. Baker was supposed to be 123. And Phoenix is off the charts, too. Neither man nor beast was created to live in heat like that, well, scorpions perhaps. And I am on a daily hunt for Black Widows as we are inundated with them. They seem to thrive in this weather. It's fitting that only vile creatures like that would exist without difficulty in this kind of heat.
I want to be floating alongside the baby duck, without a care in the world...

Thank you, ma'am! And you betcha, nifty it is!
It would seem you are an early riser, or you like me and are a night owl.
I appreciate your help and all of your efforts keeping this list together!!!

It hit 32 here today, which is about 90 for you guys. That's more than hot enough for me - poor Mattie was panting all day long!

The second to last picture almost looks like our little town! :-)

I have heard that you temps are awful out there. Our son lives in California but we seldom hear from him as all he does is work. We have had close to 100 here in the South East USA!!
I am sick today and off to the doctor...very sore throat..feels like it is closed off...yippee...Sandy

Isn't that a song?

LOL...

Stay cool my dear Graciepoo!!

And also, I don't think you're a sea cow. I think you're a dolphin or a mermaid.

That little duckling looks like he lives here in Phoenix! 118 here yesterday. Ick. Blech.

Thank goodness for air conditioning.
Mother Nature should have made it so that the temp. never got above 90 or below 10.

Hi Gracie. Those are lovely photos especially the lil' duckling.

It's a little cool tonight but it was quite humid yesterday. My son just recovered from fever but he still has cough and colds. Probably due to the changes in the weather but he is doing beter today.

Happy weekend!

I'm with you Gracie. It's just as hot here. Hopefully by Monday we will get some relief. :)
