Kalliefornia - Down the Drain

I was born and raised in California, as were my parents, and my dad's mother. So, I'm a third-generation Californian. Today, I watched my beloved state get flushed right down the crapper.

Our "dear leader," Gov. Ahnold, is letting some folks out of the clink, cutting programs for children, education is taking a horrific beating, he's cutting back deeply in law enforcement, along with other legitimate social services. State employees are taking two days per month "furlough," and now they're getting their salaries whacked. Who does this hurt? All of the lower level folks!!!

And our beautiful, magnificent state parks? Getting axed - no pun intended. I guess there will be dirty nappies, cigarette butts, used condoms, and other delightful items strewn all over the state.

Isn't that just ducky? Let Peolosi and all the other pols run around the country in their jets, wasting taxpayer money, etc. They get mahvelous health care insurance, and no matter how long they serve, they get lifetime pay and benefits. Not too shabby, I'd say!

One of our children and her husband, own property in Montana. They're leaving as soon as they can work it out. It might be too late for us, but you never know. I never thought I'd ever want to leave my California.

Can we ever recover???

Pretty soon there will be nowhere to hide. It's all over the country, not just California. Sooner or later, they have to stop the bleeding and see what's left to work with.

have no fear Miss Gracie, the rest of america is in the swirle with you, we are all being sucked into a huge septic tank.

The One in his speach this morning threw Isrial under the bus, I am wondering what all the Jews that voted for him thinks today. God help us, no one else can.

Very well said honey, and as a Californian too I can so relate to everything you said. It's indeed a shame. I think we have a long way to go to hit bottom and I really don't know if we will recover any time soon, if ever. Our state budget has been in the toilet for years. I think the chickens have finally come home to roost.

Have a terrific day. Big hug. :)

Well, don't come to Michigan!
We're losing most of our state troopers and local governments are basically telling people 'deal with it' with the giagantor pot holes left after this winter, cuz there's no $ to fill 'em up.
I say we grind up the politicians and fill up the pot holes, what do you think?

My dad was born here, so was I. I'm very saddened over the deterioration of this state. Sometimes I just call it Northern Mexico. But then my kids say I can't say that.

Today, we were notified that the summer school enrichment program has been cut. While we didn't rely on it, a lot of poorer kids did.

Also, my son has is autistic and has mental health services through the county. I fear those will go too. We have stayed here in California but will leave as soon as I can find services for him in Georgia, so we can join hubby when he returns from the sandbox.

Like you, I love this state. I love everything the oceans, mountains and deserts. I even love the writers like Steinbeck, Stegner, and Doerr.
I'm beyond sad. I'm pissed off.
