Sorry, folks....

I'm very sorry I've been such a dud lately. I've been under the weather
for some time now
(or under the bird...) - mostly with the
most damnable headaches...same old thing.

I will come by to visit and comment as soon as I can
stand to look at the screen for more

than five minutes at a time....
Thanks for your understanding!

Manic Monday - Season

My favorite season is any season roses are in bloom.
There are so many varieties
to choose from but they
make any
season a delight!

Photo Hunt - Ruin(ed)

We were just headed into fall - the liquid amber is turning
color - but when winter came in all of it's freezing beauty,
the mimosa and bougainvillea were ruined...
This occurred before we sold our house, naturally, and left
a huge hole in the landscape!
I love Mother Nature but I get a tad grumpy when she
tampers with my shrubs!!!

Check out what else was ruined!

Sunset

Two different evenings, two different sunsets...
I did use the spotlight effect on the bottom
photo but did nothing to enhance the one
on top. I hopped in the car and raced
back the road about a mile to get the
first photo. I love the colors in clouds.

Wordless Wednesday

My mistake: I can't claim this photo.
But it echoed my mood...
It does look a lot like the area I live in...

The Divine Comedy - Dante's Inferno

"Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate", or
"Abandon all hope, ye who enter here"

Dante's Inferno - The Divine Comedy: For those of you who had to
study this classic work, no doubt you will remember the Nine Circles of Hell.
Within the 8th Circle of Hell, a special place is reserved for corrupt politicians. Yes, even in the middle ages they existed!

During this two year political campaign, I feel as though I've been through one of the Circles of Hell! If we are ever subjected to this again, I feel that our "friends" in office should take the official tour that Dante prescribed. As for me, I'm re-registering as an Independent!

Bolgia 5: Corrupt politicians (barrators) are immersed in a lake of boiling pitch, which represents the sticky fingers and dark secrets of their corrupt deals. They are guarded by devils called the Malebranche ("Evil Claws"). Their leader, Malacoda ("Evil Tail"), assigns a troop to escort Virgil and Dante to the next bridge. The troop hook and torment one of the sinners (identified by early commentators as Ciampolo), who names some Italian grafters and then tricks the Malebranche in order to escape back into the pitch. (Cantos XXI through XXIII)

Bolgia 6: The bridge over this bolgia is broken: the poets climb down into it and find the Hypocrites listlessly walking along wearing gold-gilded lead cloaks. Dante speaks with Catalano and Loderingo, members of the Jovial Friars. It is also ironic in this canto that while in the company of hypocrites, the poets also discover that the guardians of the fraudulent (the malebranche) are hypocrites themselves, as they find that they have lied to them, giving false directions, when at the same time they are punishing liars for similar sins. (Canto XXIII)

Feed Burner

A lot of you have told me that my blog doesn't show up in your readers.
Well, I followed advice and double-checked my settings.
It was as it should be. I've tried to contact Blogger (hahahaha)
to no avail. So, (here's the scary part) I fiddled around with
Feed Burner and have, I think, solved the problem.

Please do me a huge favor and let me know if this works!
I appreciate all of you who have offered solutions and let
me know that you care enough to want to read this crazy blog!
~~~Blessings to all~~~
