A Tornado, Here???

Weird thing happened...

We were watching a movie when the weather cops broke in to broadcast a tornado warning for Kern County. WHAT? In Kern County? For one thing, that covers a lot of territory, landwise, and a tornado? Have they been drinking up at the weather service? Where in Kern County? Already they're telling people where to go in case of a tornado. Okay, tell us where the stupid thing is!!!
FINALLY! It's about 90 miles east of here. Thank you very much! But it was such a strange occurrence, it made the national news. They're calling it the Antelope Valley but we got the
warning. Nice to know they're all on the ball, isn't it?

The weather we know we're having is HEAT! Relentless heat. It's midnight and it's still 90 very hot, stinkin' degrees. It was supposed to be 107 today but it didn't quite make it. All together now: Awwwwww.

we had a whirlwind in Birmingham... Birmingham West Midlands not Alabama... it threw cars and trees all over the place and made quite a hash of the brick-built terraced streets...

and it was only a tinsy little one i couldn't help imagining what a proper American sized one would have done

i remember seeing this footage on tv ... it was actually filmed AT the tv station ... of ppl panicking and hiding... and shutting these giant electric doors and someone yelling NO LEAVE THEM OPEN bc you're meant to let the pressure even out through the building else it explodes and no-one really knowing what at all to do in those split seconds....

... and then there was hurricane footage shot by the people who went "o yeah, we'll sit it out!"

sat in the dark with this constant HOWLING man it was LOUD even through the tv you could sense the accumulating terror... and almost feel the water seeping STRONGLY through the sides of windows etc it was HORRIBLE i would never go through one of them if i had the choice to get out
