Time for Friday Feastin'!
APPETIZER
Who is your favorite news anchor/reporter and why?
I'm a Fox News girl and I am a news junkie. I would probably say Shep Smith, because he's a bit of a smart-azz and has a lot of passion when he reports.
SOUP
SOUP
Name 3 foods that are currently in your freezer.

also some english muffins.
SALAD
If you were to have the opportunity to name a new town or city, what would you call it?
Ignoramusville - it would be for people who insist on sharing their cell phone conversations with you.
MAIN COURSE
What will most likely be the next book you read?
I did a Thursday 13 not too long ago and I still have that same stack of books waiting, but I think I'll start "Running With Scissors" next - it wasn't even on the list!

DESERT
What's the first thing you notice about the opposite gender?
Eyes, eyes, eyes (including the one in the middle of the forehead). And then the forearms...

Hi Gracie. I like english muffins too.
That's quite a funny salad and dessert. But I do believe that the eyes are the mirrors of the soul. They somehow reflects what you are inside.
Have a lovely weekend. Take care!
I'll go with the salad and dessert definitely.
Running with Scissors is great. Although now that I've read it I'm not sure I want to see the movie!
Eyes and forearms - most definitely! And the smile, gotta check out the smile, too!
Oh Gracie, I agree with you on the eyes ! Happy Friday to you !
how have you been doing after daking that new supplement?
hey nice Feast for today!! eyes are the best part of people I agree but I picked hands today because that is what I remember about Mike when I first met him. They are still my favorite...he works so hard!! Have a great weekend..Sandy
You are the only other person, besides myself, who has even shown any interest in reading Running with Scissors. I read it over a year ago and I thought it was awesome. It is definitely not for the faint of heart or close minded...but it certainly cuts to the core of mental illness and those lives affected by it. It is one of those books, that once read, I refuse to part with. I also enjoyed his book Dry...again, not for the faint of heart but true to the very core. I will be curious to hear your feelings about it :)
I hope you enjoy Running with Scissors. I read it over the summer and it was quite interesting. His other books are really good as well.
Well, I think “Ordained Minister” proved your point. Besides not being able to spell (ie. congratulations) his senseless sarcasm is not worthy of the Jesus of whom he claims to speak. Many people do not go to a “church” because of this kind of attitude.
The Jesus I serve said, ” Come to me, all you who art weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Not, “Come here you stupid idiot…I’ll smite you with a smart aleck remark and shame you!”
Just turn on the TV (or don’t!!!) and you’ll see false teachers, who care not for truth but for the almighty love of money. Therein lies the shame!
Gracie, although I understand that your comment was well intentioned...because you do not know the commenter, you have completely missed the gist of what he said. "the ordained minister" is one of my closest friends and he is also a very big Beatles fan. The comment about Jesus was in reference to a comment that John Lennon made in the height of The Beatles popularity...stating that "The Beatles are bigger than Jesus"...which was Lennon's (off) way of making the observation that at how huge The Beatles phenomenon had become...and that it seemed that people were flocking to record stores and concerts and stuff like that in even greater numbers then people who go to Church.
Yes, I understand that his comment seemed insulting to Christians, and if you want to be insulted, that is your right...but it was not the intention of his...its just his personality and his way of letting me know that he had stopped by my blog.
Thank you for pointing out his "rudeness" to everyone, but my blog is my house. If I had found fault in what he said, I would have spoken up. But I did not because I wasn't offended by it. I thought it was funny and ironic...which was the intention.
Holy ghost ! Running with cissors ! Is that an instruction book for futur serial killers ??
you too? we have fox news on pretty much 24/7 here, even all night...sigh.
sarge can't sleep without it. sometimes i see greta three times! ha ha ha
smiles, bee
My response to Silver on her site:
Oh no… I am SO sorry!
I read too much into it and thought he was making fun of you and previous posters! No, I wasn’t offended! I am so used to the guys on TV lashing out at people who don’t follow their script and I misinterpreted your friend’s point.
I would never come into someone’s blog and act uppity on purpose. My apologies to both you and “Ordained Minister.” Mea culpa…
I honestly thought this guy was making fun of Silver and the people who had posted earlier. I was wrong and certainly let her know that I was wrong.
Great feast! Great salad, which was funny. And we have the same dessert.
thanks for stopping by.
I'm interested in your thoughts on Running With Scissors - e-mail me when you're finished, ok?
cheers,
mo
ps: if you like Augusten Burroughs, his collection of short stories "Magical Thinking" is the BEST of his books!
